Image result for dajipur forestThe evergreen forest, Radhanagari, lies on the border of Kolhapur district. The bison sanctuary at Radhanagari is full of spectacular sights.

The famous Dajipur sanctuary is just 24 kilometers from Radhanagari. The famous Phonda Ghat is at a short distance from here. Though the area of Dajipur is smaller than Radhanagari, the animal life here is pretty rich. Dajipur is located 1200 meters above sea level therefore the atmosphere is pretty chill here.

In the Dajipur sanctuary mighty Indian bisons (local name Gawa) are seen. Wild deers, chitals and other wild animals are also spotted here, besides a host of exotic birds. It is a great place for botanical excursions.

ASIAN ELEPHANTS

Elephants  are large mammals of the family  Elephantidae  and the order  Proboscidea . Three species are recognised, the  African bush elephant  ( Loxodonta africana ), the  African forest elephant  ( L. cyclotis ), and the  Asian elephant  ( Elephas maximus ). Elephants are scattered throughout  sub-Saharan Africa ,  South Asia , and  Southeast Asia .
